L'Ombre Orchestre - the Shadow Orchestra - Xavier Mortimer
The curtains rise, a lone musician on the stage, a lunar character, begins a tune on the accordion. Everything then turns surreal when his shadow starts to multiply to form a band. Instruments fly around, the partitions become incontrollable…. We abandon reality in favor of a dream. Surprised or overwhelmed by all that is going on, the artist carries us into a state of sweet stupor. A show full of visual surprises and rich in inventiveness, a powerful moment of laughter and poetry. Xavier Mortimer shares with us a truly beautiful performance between laughter and emotion The surprises are never ending and the audience lets itself be carried away, in large part thanks to the charm and candor of the performer and to his mastery of his craft One of these truly attractive performances, strangely melancholic which, with a charming smile, reveals a certain sophistication.
